Orthopedics Hyperguide Question Bank Overview

Summary
QBANK offers two types of tests:

  1. A STANDARD TEST, composed of 100 questions pulled from all specialty areas
  2. A CUSTOM TEST, allowing the user to select a specialty emphasis

QBANK has three main navigation areas:

Create Test - Choose from several options to make each test unique.

Testing - Available once a new test has been created, or a suspended test has been resumed.

Previous Test - A list of past tests. Go back and review previous tests, see score data, or return to suspended tests

Create Test Page
There are five key elements in this page.

  1. Select Test Style
This option determines the testing mode.
    • Timed mode works like a regular test. Application allows one minute per question to complete the test. At the end of the test, user can go back and review answers.
    • Tutor mode does not have any time limit. As the user goes through each question, there is an Explanation link. Clicking on the Explanation link will display the answer explanation in the same window.
  2. Select Question Reuse Mode
This option determines which questions are used to generate the test. The application tracks which questions user has previous seen. Once Question Reuse mode is selected, the application will deliver questions randomly from the chosen pool of questions.
    • Unused - This option only selects questions user has not seen in previous tests.
    • Unused and Incorrect - This option selects questions that the user has not seen in previous tests, and questions user has seen before but chose the incorrect answer.
    • Incorrect Only - This option selects only questions user has seen before but chose the incorrect answer.
    • All - This option selects randomly from all questions.
  3. Select Test Content
This option further narrows the pool of test questions by topic. Users can choose one topic, several topics, or all topics. The application will randomly select questions from the chose topic or topics.
  4. Display Available Questions
Once Reuse Mode and Test Content are selected, the application will display the number of available questions.
  5. Create Test
The user selects how many questions he/she would like to take in the test. The maximum number is 50.

Testing Page
This page delivers individual test items. Users must select an answer choice before going to the next question.

  • Suspend button - This will save the user's answer choices, stop the test, and allow the student to return to the test at a later date.
  • Flag icon - This feature is to allow users flag questions they have trouble answering. The application "flags" the question so that it is highlighted in the Review List. At the end of the test, users can then quickly return to flagged questions to see how they did.

At the end of the test, the Test Analysis page will appear. User will see current test score, overall score from all tests, and a breakdown of how they scored by test topic.

Previous Test
This page shows a summary list of all tests created by user. Test date, score, and status are all shown on this page. Tests that were suspended are marked In Progress. Users may click Continue to return to the suspended test. Tests marked Completed have two options:

  • Review - This will bring the user to the question review list page. Previously flagged questions will have the flag icon highlighted. Clicking Explanation will show the user the question explanation.
  • Test Analysis - This will display a report of the user's score in the test. User will see current test score, overall score from all tests, and a breakdown of how they scored by test topic.
