The ORTHOPEDICS HYPERGUIDE™ contains tutorials, online
lectures, and test questions in the following areas: Adult Orthopedics, Basic
Science, Foot and Ankle, Hand,Orthobiologics and Pharmacologics, Pediatric Orthopedics, Spine, Sports Medicine,
Trauma, and Tumor.
Tutorials provide you with an overview of important
topics and focus on areas such as clinical and radiographic features,
diagnosis, risk factors, evaluation, treatment options, and patient outcomes.
Throughout each tutorial, you will be able to access images including clinical
photographs, radiographs, and magnetic resonance images. If you would like
additional information on a specific topic, bibliographies are included at the
conclusion of each tutorial.
Online lectures simulate the lecture experience.
Experts in the orthopedic community provide lectures in their respective
specialty area. The slides automatically advance along with the audio, and a
transcript of the lecture is shown below the slides. Printable transcripts of
the lectures are also available.
Test questions serve as excellent practice whether you
are preparing for the board exam or recertification. Hundreds of
multiple-choice questions will test your knowledge in all areas of orthopedics.
You may choose to either take a standard test or you can customize a test of up to 250 questions
that will focus on the topics in which you need the most practice.
The ORTHOPEDICS HYPERGUIDE™, launched in 1997, was the
first online, interactive orthopedic review of its kind. The ORTHOPEDICS
HYPERGUIDE™ offers a comprehensive review course through the World Wide
Web to residents studying for the OITE and board exams and practicing
physicians preparing for recertification. The Web site also provides useful
information to nurses and operating room technicians.
The information is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you can explore the material at your own pace and convenience.
Anyone can access the ORTHOPEDICS HYPERGUIDE™ homepage.
However, to follow links into the content areas, you must provide a user name
and password. To request an exclusive user name and password or renewal code please contact

The ORTHOPEDICS HYPERGUIDE™ is a free educational Web
site for the orthopedic community. There is no cost for you to access the
ORTHOPEDICS HYPERGUIDE™ or to obtain CME credits. The Web site and the
cost of CME are supported as an educational service by Stryker®
Corporation. The Web site does not include any product advertisements.
Vindico Medical Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council
for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical
education for physicians. The time that you spend on the ORTHOPEDICS
HYPERGUIDE™ will be monitored for the purpose of issuing CME credit. Vindico Medical Education designates this educational activity on an hour-for-hour basis for
up to 50 hours in category 1 credit (per calendar year) toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
After you log on to the ORTHOPEDICS HYPERGUIDE™, read the
CME objectives and instructions for obtaining credit. This information can by
found by clicking on the "CME Information" button that is located on the left side of the page.
Time that you spend on the ORTHOPEDICS HYPERGUIDE™ is not
cumulative from session to session - you must apply for CME credit at the end
of each session. If you leave the Web site before applying for credit, you will
not receive credit for that session. You must NOT hit refresh or resize your browser window.
Applying for credit is fast and simple: Before ending your
session, select the "CME Information" button on the left side of the page.
Complete and submit the electronic registration and evaluation forms. Upon
confirmation of your activity, Vindico Medical Education will award a CME certificate
instantaneously through email.
International Users. If your country recognizes United
States-approved CME as valid credits in medical education, then the credits you
can earn on the ORTHOPEDICS HYPERGUIDE™ can be applied to your country's
continuing medical education program.
The user name and password that you receive in your New User
Packet is valid for 1 year. When your user name has expired, the Web site
will prompt you to enter a 4-digit renewal code in order to continue accessing
the ORTHOPEDICS HYPERGUIDE™. This renewal code is distributed by your
Stryker representative. Your Stryker representative will ensure that you have a
renewal code before your current code's expiration date.
