Post fracture weight bearing issue
40 year old OBG doctor had an accident in which he has lost his 10 year old son and injurey to his wife.
he had accident 40 km away from any hospital. He had scalp injury which is treated later my 20 stcihes, lft mid shaft humerus undisplaced fracture which is managed my bridge plating after a day of accident and lft communicated displaced fracture dealt with plating and screwing. His Lower leg is supported and instructed not to do rotatary movement and lft arm is given shoulder pouch to support the arm.
He was advised to regular exercise to prevent DVt and the muscle weakness. After 30 days Xray was taken and and bridge callus formation seen at humerus fracture and shoulder pouch was removed and instructed to mobile his arm but still not much callunization at femur shaft still ortho paedic surgeon advise weight bearing (toe touch weight bearing ).
I am confuse about the weight bearing to be given to upper limb on left side as he has fracture.
I like to make him more mobile and functionaly active as he likes to join his hospital.
how much time it would take to put weight on his upper limb so that i can advise hime walker and he can walk non weight bearing through lower limb.
